Downtown Akron Partnership has announced the return of Downtown Akron Fall Fest for its fifth year. The Halloween-themed family gathering is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., along Main Street and at Locks 3 and 4.

Local businesses and community organizations will provide trick-or-treat stops. Participants named in the announcement include Akron Children’s Hospital, METRO RTA, the Akron History Center and the city’s Recreation and Parks department. Stations will also offer nonfood trinkets for children with food allergies, following the Teal Pumpkin Project approach.

The announced activities at Lock 3 include decorating small pumpkins, roasting s’mores, face painting and a themed railroad attraction. Families can also expect a costume contest, character photo opportunities, stilt walkers and a roaming magician. DJ Vinnie G is scheduled to provide music, while food trucks will sell snacks and refreshments.

The announcement describes a free lineup of crafts and activities. This preview reflects the organizer’s October 2 release; it is not a report from the event or confirmation of any later schedule changes.
